Established in 1996, Guangzhou General Merchandise Group Limited is a key large state- owned group in Guangzhou City and Guangdong Province. The group has 18 secondary wholly- owned companies and holding companies, having formed four major sectors including three principal industries, namely retailing, exhibition and trading, and logistics, as well as the supporting commercial real estate industry. The retailing sector includes Guangzhou Grandbuy Co., Ltd., a national top100 large retailing enterprises and listed company. The exhibition and trading sector owns several influential professional markets such as Guangzhou Silicon Valley of Guangzhou International Commodity Trade City, China Fashion Trade Center and Guangzhou Glass City. The logistics sector includes Guangzhou Commercial Warehousing and Transportation Company which has great strength in Southern China. The group ranked No. 24 of China’s Top 100 Enterprises in 2012 in terms of business scale and No. 204 of China’s Top 500 Service Enterprises in 2013 in terms of business revenue.
