The Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA), with the full support of the government and business leaders, was thus formally inaugurated on August 9, 2000 to play a bigger role in undertaking the promotion of bilateral economic ties with the rest of the world.
The sole purpose of the CIECA is to promote and cement international economic cooperation through collaboration of R.O.C. businessmen and private business organizations with their counterparts in foreign countries.
The CIECA maintains cooperative relations with trade organizations and chambers of industry and commerce in countries covering Europe, North America, Latin America, Oceania, Asia, Middle East and Africa.
Its goal is to promote bilateral trade, foreign investments, strategic alliance, technology transfers and substantive relations.
