The 5th edition of the already famous Autumn Festival of the German Economy – Herbstfest (Wirtschaft. Kultur. Networking) is heading for the start, on the first October weekend, a date that has become a tradition for the festival. Cluj-Napoca’s Oktoberfest will take place between 30 September and 2 October in the main Unirii Square. Various activities organized as well by the Germans, along with the Press Conference will also take place on September 29, but not in Unirii Square.
This year’s edition of what the organizers like to call ”German Cluj Days” comes with even more surprises than last years, with beer, Bavarian sausages, strudels, products for all tastes, shows and activities for all ages. Visitors will have the chance to find out, from practical experiences, interesting, untold and unseen things about the German culture, traditions and economy.
The organizers have prepared a complete and various program: stretching from live concerts to professional dance acts, fashion shows, dog training demonstrations, first aid demonstrations, mini-golf and playground for kids, to artistic shops, job matching and recruitment workshops, international business networking sessions, happenings, exhibitions and test drives with the most powerful German cars.
2016 edition of the festival, more…German than ever!
This year’s edition of the Autumn Festival of the German Economy – Herbstfest comes with a series of novelties which strengthen the role of this foreign community in Transylvania.
First of all, the event will be attended by the Ambassador of Germany in Romania, Mr. Werner Hans Lauk and by Köln mayor Dr. Ralf Heinen. This year, only original German or German-like music will be played on the great stage, installed in Unirii Square in a giant tent. There will be Bavarian style orchestras and bands like: Klaudia und die Burzenland Party Band, Trio Saxones (a band made up of three Saxon priests from Transylvania), Sächsische Tänze – Sächsische Volkstanzgruppe aus Mühlbach (a Saxon dance ensemble from Sebeș city), as well as the Foieni Fanfare, whose annual presence has become a symbol of the festival.
The lovely and lively music will, of course, accompany the delicious traditional German food and the great deal of original Bavarian beer choices which will fill the barrels. The diversification of the range of culinary and alcoholic products, specially prepared and brought directly from Germany for this event is one of the highlights of this year’s organizing promise.
The tapping of the first cask of beer will be made, as usually, by Mayor Emil Boc, marking thus the official opening of the festival.
The Autumn Festival of the German Economy – Herbstfest (Wirtschaft. Kultur. Networking) is organized by the German Business Club of Northern Transylvania (DWNT) and Avalon Events, with the support of Cluj-Napoca City Hall, Local Council and Cluj County Council. The project supports Cluj-Napoca’s candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture 2021.
The Businessmen that will register will have the opportunity to participate in the first evening (September 29th 2016) at a networking session with international support Romanian Business Exchange – an event offered by IAS Expert. Applications for registration can be made below.
